Flood Warning for Rockford

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING RIVERS IN ILLINOIS…   ROCK RIVER AT ROCKFORD AFFECTING WINNEBAGO COUNTY .  ICE JAMS CAN RESULT IN RAPID FLUCTUATIONS IN WATER LEVELS WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING.   RESIDENTS IN LOW LYING FLOOD PRONE AREAS SHOULD REMAIN ALERT FOR POSSIBLE FLOODING DUE TO ICE JAMS.  THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A * FLOOD WARNING FOR  THE ROCK RIVER AT ROCKFORD.* UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.* ON FRIDAY THE STAGE WAS 9.1 FEET.* FLOOD STAGE IS 9.0 FEET.* MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MINOR FLOODING IS FORECASTED.* FORECAST…THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE RISING TO NEAR 9.7 FEET BY EARLY  SATURDAY THEN BEGIN FALLING.
