Here we are in the second week of December and we still have yet to see a measurable amount of snowfall (0.1″ or more) in Rockford. A few flurries dot the radar this afternoon, and we have seen several days with a trace of snow, but nothing substantial. This puts us well behind the average date when we typically see our first 0.1″ or more which falls on November 20th. In the past 5 years, including this year, our first measurable snowfall has been past the average date. With no snow expected in the next 7 days we will have to keep waiting for that first good snowfall in Rockford. -Greg
