Eric has over a decade of on-air forecasting experience. In June 2008 he received the prestigious Silver Dome Award for 'Best TV weathercast' from the Illinois Broadcasters Association. He attended St. Edwards Grade School and Boylan High School here in Rockford before attending Northern Illinois University. After receiving his Bachelor of Science Degree in Meteorology, Eric worked at KTRE in Lufkin, Texas and KLTV in Tyler, Texas. This year will mark his seventh year at the station he watched growing up. His parents live in Belvidere and are viewers every night. He has an older brother who lives in the western suburbs and a sister in Southern Wisconsin. He's happy to share his Rockford home with the official 13News Weather Lab (a 9 year old black lab named Theo).

Cyndi Kahlbaum was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her love of weather came at an early age thanks to her father who is also a Meteorologist. When she was just five years old, she could accurately draw a weather map with the real symbols!
Cyndi received her degree in Meteorology from Valparaiso University. She is an avid stormchaser and has seen some of the most amazing and jaw-dropping storms. Cyndi comes to Rockford from Denison, Texas where she was the morning Meteorologist for KTEN-TV so she's got a lot of experience helping you get up on the right side of the bed! In her spare time she still loves to take pictures of the storms that she's chasing (or the ones that are chasing her). She also loves to play and watch hockey and enjoys Ballroom Dancing.
Aaron Brackett is no stranger to the area, having grown up in Rockton. He graduated from Lutheran High School before attending Valparaiso University in Indiana. As his mom says “Aaron pretty much learned to read by watching the Local Forecast on television.”
During his time in Indiana, Aaron became the Director of Valparaiso University’s Storm Intercept Team and participated in three 11-day storm chases. He received national recognition on MSNBC for his coverage of the January tornado that devastated northern Boone County in 2008. In his spare time at the University, He represented Valpo as a division 1 sprinter for two years.
Aaron gained valuable forecasting experience by interning with WGN's Tom Skilling. He also worked as an on-air personality and mentor for the inaugural year of VUTV.
Aaron’s parents live in Roscoe and are regular viewers of WREX. In his free time, Aaron enjoys running, tennis, or if the weather permits, storm chasing.
