Cooler Than Usual?

eightiesIf you think this spring has been cooler than usual, you are absolutely correct.  The climatology for the past twenty years has shown that we average 4.35 days of 80°+  temperatures until today, May 20th.  This year, however, we are below the norm having only hit the eighty degree mark three days thus far.  Looks like we can add one more eighty degree day to the list for this spring by tomorrow and after that just seventies to look forward to.

If anyone thought the weather in Minnesota couldnt get any more extreme compared to yesterday, well you thought wrong. Looking at the numbers coming in from all of Northeastern Minnestoa, around Duluth and in the UP there are areas that jumped 40 degrees in 20 minutes. Sky Harbor Airport went from around 44 to 84 degrees. And airports and cities as close as 15 miles to each other were 50 degrees apart. This to me is amazing!

The influence of wind direction and Lake Superior this time of year is incredible.
