A Snow-Hunger-Trapper’s Moon

338382423_9f7796bcdfHappy February 1st Everyone!  It’s time for a new full moon name for this month.  This can be experienced on Feb. 28th, and to find out it has many different names that it can be called… it all depends where you look.

Native tribes from the North and East often call it a Snow Moon, since the heaviest snow fall usually happens in this month.  Some other tribes referred to it as the Full Hunger Moon, due to the weather being very harsh, it makes it difficult to hunt.

Here are some other ways that this February full moon is called:
Trapper’s Moon- Colonial American
Budding Moon- Chinese
Moon of Ice- Celtic
Storm Moon- English Medieval
