Exactrack|HD Rainfall Estimates

Some much needed rain showers and even thunderstorms moved through northern Illinois Friday morning.  Areas south and southwest of Rockford picked up some appreciable rainfall.  The Forest City saw around 0.10″ of rain.  The I-88 corridor picked up the most rain, with a large chunk of real estate receiving around half an inch.

Our Exactrack|HD rainfall estimate tool shows that areas north of Sterling/Rock Falls were lucky; around 1 inch fell there!  On the flip side, northern areas of Stephenson, Winnebago, Boone, McHenry and southern Wisconsin counties were hard-pressed to see a few drops of rain.

Any rain is welcomed, but this morning’s rainfall hardly made a dent in our deficit.  Rockford is still nearly 6 inches below normal!  Scattered showers and thunderstorms Friday night may provide more relief for our area.
