Much of the country will see 100° temperatures

A significant heat wave will expand out of the Rocky Mountain States into the Plains on Wednesday with high temperatures exceeding 110 degrees along the border between Kansas and Nebraska. This shaded regions show where 100 degree temperatures are forecast with the purple color indicating 105-110° and the light pink 110°+. 100 degree temperatures are anticipated in Minneapolis, Des Moines, St. Louis, Omaha, Kansas City, Wichita, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Little Rock, Shreveport, Dallas/Ft.Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Colorado Springs, El Paso, and Phoenix.

On Thursday the heat will expand into the Midwest States with temperatures above 105° posisible in Cincinnati, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Kansas City, Little Rock, and Oklahoma City. In 2011, Rockford saw two back to back 100 degree days…the first since 1989. It sure looks like this will be repeated the day after tomorrow. And honestly, there is a chance we could see another 100 degree temperature on Monday as one model is indicating even hotter temperatures possible! Please be safe and take it easy. If you have friends and family in any of the areas shown on this map, please keep tabs on them and make sure everyone stays safe.
