New way to forecast snow?

satTonight at ten, I showed you a different snowfall forecast graphic. This one (at left) has many numbers on it. The bigger the number, the higher the likelihood we get that amount of snow. So, the 1 and the 10 are very small which mean we have a very small chance of receiving that amount. So for all intents and purposes, this is a general 3-6 inch snowfall forecast.

2Next week, the numbers get a little bigger because the models are still all over the place. I can’t logically narrow down the possibilities. But as time wears on and more data comes in, the forecast will get more accurate and some of the numbers get smaller. So, a forecast that I have high confidence in will have one, giant number with smaller numbers on the sides.

Does this make sense? What do you think of this new idea? I’d like your feedback…both positive and negative. E-Mail me at esorensen@wrex.com.
