¡Viva la Mexico!

You may have noticed my absence in the weather center last week. I had the opportunity to utilize the fantastic AeroMexico non-stop flight from Rockford to Cancun. What a wonderful thing it was to go directly from home. The flights/packages are VERY reasonable for anyone. In fact, I am going to cut out some of the fast-food and plan for another trip this fall/next winter. Some highlights: monkeys, friendly people, great food, wonderful beaches, warm water, and of course a few sips of tequila. 😉
Photo1: VW’s are very popular. You can walk up to this one and get food!

Photo3: Yours truly at the Rockford airport before the flight to Mexico.
Photo4: On the beach in downtown Playa del Carmen.
Photo5: The first time I’ve ever seen monkeys in the wild. Wild!
Photo6: On Cozumel Island there is a very tall lighthouse. For a small fee you can go up and it’s worth it! The view was one of the most beautiful I’ve seen.
Photo7: Nothing like seeing my hometown on the airport board in CUN!
Photo8: The red flag means you can’t get in the water because of waves/rips but the chase lounges are okay in the meantime.mx7mx6mx5mx4

Indian Summer in the Stateline!

1In a fall where below average temperatures were the rule, we have fianlly been able to top the 70 degree mark. I did a little digging, and in fact, with the exception of one warm October day, we have not hit 70 degrees for 40 days! Pretty much all of the stateline was able to get in on the warmth today with most locations hovering right around 70 this afternoon. Sunday looks to be warm as well with highs in the upper 60’s, so make sure you get out and enjoy it!
