Nature’s Weed-Be-Gone

We are beginning a cool streak that will put our overnight temperatures into the 30s starting tonight and extending well into next week. The odds of widespread frost are very good, especially heading into the weekend when night time temps could make it all the way down to 32 degrees. CaptureThat is pretty chilly, but also good news allergy sufferers like myself. Once the first widespread frost hits, that’s it! Tree, grass and weed pollen will die and be gone until next spring. We have finally made it into the home stretch! -Greg Capture2

Allergies Drifing Away…

Here is a look at today’s allergy report. Tree and grass pollen have wrapped up shop for the year, but ragweed is still clinging to life. The good news is that in a matter of a few weeks we won’t be dealing with the 2013 allergy season anymore! -Greg Capture

Allergy Report 6-4-13

After several weeks with allergy counts sitting firmly in the “high” categories, we have finally seen them drop back into the moderate category for the time being. These cooler temperatures combined with the lack of wind as of late have helped to stifle pollen counts just a bit, giving us allergy sufferers a quick break. With wind expected to be on the increase over the next few days, its a good bet that polllen counts will once again be on the rise. -Greg1

Pollen Count

A dry and breezy day makes for a day that allergy sufferers tend to dread. Today, both tree and grass pollen are on the high side with weed pollen edging into the moderate category. If you are a sufferer like I am, I recommend a pocket full of tissues! For more details you can always call our partners at the Winnebago County Health Department at (815) 720-4041. Enjoy the warm and mostly sunny afternoon! -Greg2
